Every account at Cool Cat runs on information you give us and information we're required to verify. Here's exactly what that involves, in terms that don't need a law degree to follow.
When you register with Cool Cat, we collect a set of basic details: your name, date of birth, email, phone number and mailing address. This lets us confirm you meet the minimum age of 19 and that you're eligible to hold an account under the rules that apply to Canadian players outside Ontario. There is no single national regulator overseeing this market, so we rely on our own verification standards plus the requirements tied to our licence, which is published in the site footer along with the issuing authority. Confirm those details there before you play.
Know Your Customer checks are standard across the industry and Cool Cat is no exception. Before a first withdrawal, and periodically afterward, we may ask for a government-issued photo ID, a recent proof of address such as a utility bill, and confirmation of the payment method you're using to fund your account. If you deposit by Visa or Mastercard, we may request a partial image of the card showing the last four digits. If you fund your account with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin or Tether, we log wallet addresses tied to your transactions for the same verification purpose.
Interac e-Transfer details, card numbers and crypto wallet addresses are processed through payment partners that specialise in gaming transactions. Cool Cat does not store full card numbers on its own servers. Sensitive payment fields are encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to staff who need it to process deposits, withdrawals or a dispute. All balances are held and displayed in CAD, so no currency-conversion data is generated on our end that would need separate handling.
Account data sits behind encrypted connections (TLS) for anything moving between your browser and our servers. Internally, data is segmented so that customer support staff, payments staff and technical staff each see only what their role requires. We run regular security reviews of the systems that store identity documents and transaction histories, and we retain those documents only as long as required for verification, fraud prevention and any legal retention periods that apply to gaming operators.
You can ask us, at any point, what personal data we hold about you. You can request corrections if something is out of date or wrong, for example a changed address or phone number. You can also request deletion of your data once your account is closed and any regulatory retention period has passed, since gaming operators are typically required to keep transaction and identity records for a set number of years even after an account closes. We'll tell you the applicable retention window when you make a deletion request.
If you've opted in to promotional emails about free spins or deposit bonuses on selected slots, you can unsubscribe from the footer link in any marketing email or by asking our support team directly. Opting out of marketing doesn't affect transactional messages like withdrawal confirmations or account security alerts, which we send regardless.
Questions about how your data is stored, used or shared can go to our support team through live chat or email, both staffed 24/7 in English. For anything specifically about data deletion, correction requests or a copy of your file, flag your message as a privacy request so it routes to the right team. Response times for privacy-specific requests typically run longer than standard support tickets since they involve identity verification on our end too, to make sure we're not handing your data to someone impersonating you.
If you're concerned about time or money spent on gambling, ConnexOntario offers free, confidential support around the clock at 1-866-531-2600 or https://www.connexontario.ca/. Cool Cat is for players 19 and older.
